After more than 8 years of intensive work and collaboration designing the largest bridge in Beijing extending the longest avenue of Beijing on the west side, the first step of construction started this October 29th 2017 on a sunny Sunday. Besides the weather forecasting heavy winds that post-poned the beginning of the construction for one day, the first part of the steel structure constituting one of the four steel foundation pillars of the bridge has been installed.
This 15,9m long, 15m large and 2,5m high piece of steel required the use of the highest technologies and level of precision for its installation. A 2800T-crane; only four are available in whole China, lifted the 575T piece of steel.
